Leadership Development

A mindful leader is one whose ability to lead has come from their capacity to enter into a state of creative reflection. Rather than working harder and doing more, mindful leaders know how to be in the present moment, responding instead of reacting to what is going on. Mindful leaders are able to hold fast to the key values of mindfulness to enhance decision-making processes and create a more awakened intelligence. Ultimately, what distinguishes the mindful leader from one who acts in an impulsive way is that mindful leaders are more interested in doing the right thing, rather than doing things right.

What has been known and practiced for thousands of years in the world’s greatest religious and philosophical traditions is now becoming known in the Western study of management and leadership: to be an effective leader, self-awareness really does matter, and so does consciously managing habitual thoughts, feelings, and responses. Mindfulness leadership is the practical application of self-awareness, self-management and social awareness.  The cultivation of the practice of mindfulness means developing emotional intelligence.

The Mindful Leaders program trains leaders to lead in a more reflective and conscious manner. Leading mindfully means slowing down and becoming more deliberate in the practice of leadership. When mindful leadership is done well, leaders are better able to focus and integrate the other essential elements of holistic leadership (business strategy, culture and values, organizational leadership, team leadership, human resource leadership).

Our Mindful Leaders programs are beneficial to leaders at all levels, in all types of organizations. Whether entrepreneur or corporate CEO, the practice of mindfulness helps leaders to take their skills and effectiveness to the next level.
