Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR)Conflict within an organization can be both a destructive force and a catalyst for positive growth and change. Whether a dispute has arisen within an organization, or between two or more organizations, the unresolved conflict that occurs threatens the stability and often the existence of these organizations. In the case of family businesses, unresolved conflict can threaten both the survival of the business and of family relationships. Only through the careful management of the resolution process will conflict become a medium for progress and transformation. A system of Alternate Dispute Resolution is a great choice for organizations for many reasons. ADR can help reduce the costs and the time involved in resolving disputes. By having a structure in place for handling disputes as they arise, parties will significantly reduce the amount of time that might typically be spent in long, drawn out disputes. While it provides a forum in which disputants can discuss their frustrations, the process of ADR focuses on maintaining or improving relationships between the parties by producing a solution that is satisfactory to all involved. Our services in the area of Alternate Dispute Resolution and Conflict Mediation provide assistance to organizations that are experiencing internal conflict and business relationships that are in crisis. We also assist our clients in the prevention of disputes by providing dispute resolution training to individuals within businesses and organizations, giving them the skills necessary to prevent disputes. Further, we facilitate the proactive design of a resolution process to be used in the event of future conflict; while this does not prevent disputes from occurring, it provides a structure in which they can be handled in a consistent, objective and constructive manner. |
